"The New Year"

Happy New Year

With the beginning of a New Year many will try to turn over a “New Leaf”. We will make New Year’s resolutions as we determine to make this year different and hopefully better. This is the year we will get it done and we will get it right. We are going to lose weight, exercise more, pay off our bills, save for Christmas, organize all the family pictures, clean the closets, the garage and the attic, organ-ize every drawer in the house and so many others. Maybe 366 days is not enough?

Are there some changes that will really make a difference in this year and in our lives? Yes. Here are some to think about:

Take out the trash every day. Not just the garbage in our house but the gar-bage in our lives. Jesus comes by daily to take away our sins, if we will put them on the curb. “If we confess our sin, He is faith and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Save energy. No, the Pastor hasn’t turned green. We save energy by doing things right the first time. That is not a matter of expertise or experience. This is a matter of commitment and trust. As Proverbs :3-5,6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart. lean not on your own understanding but in ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.”

Use your strength wisely. Give your burdens to the Lord. Help others carry theirs in practical ways and with a prayerful heart and a gentle spirit.

Redeem the time. Jesus is coming soon and life is short. Let us look at how we invest our minutes and our hours and spend them as wisely as we can on things that really matter.

Exercise your faith. Exercise your mind by thinking on things lovely and of good report. Exercise your emotions of love, joy, peace. Exercise your spirit in prayer and in God’s Word.

Have an eye exam and a heart exam. What are you focused on and what are the issues of your heart? “Guard your heart, for out of your heart come the issues of life”. “As a man thinks in his heart so is he”. “Lift up your eyes, for your re-demption draws near.”

Tell Jesus you love Him every day. Tell your spouse you love them every day. Tell your children you love them as often as you can. “Love the Lord with all your heart…” “Love one another as I have loved you!”

Think on these things and HAVE A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

"Mission for Married Life"

Our Mission for Married Life Ministry at Christ the Rock Fellowship is to provide healthy spiritual settings for ongoing opportunities to enhance marriages and strengthen family relationships. We encour-age, share and learn from each other through Christ-centered practi-cal teaching and fellowship events.
The Vision for Married Life:

Married Life Ministry 20’s and 30’s is our ministry to married and en-gaged couples. At Christ the Rock Fellowship, we are dedicated in providing a place where married couples have opportunity to develop and maintain positive spirit-filled marriages. Our goal is to inspire and equip by providing practical Biblical foundations and resources for spiritual growth and family development. Our hope is that by strengthening marriages and families each will be a testimony in their community and place of employment for married couples or couples planning to be married.

Married Life Ministry 40’s-55 exists to provide biblical teaching on love, honor, respect, intimacy and developing lifelong friendship with one other and healthy bonds with their families. It is our goal at Christ the Rock Fellowship to empower and nurture through the study of God’s Word which is our blueprint for building a God-honoring marriage and family relationship. We seek to help couples understand God’s sovereign plan for marriage, how to remain wise through challenges and changes in life and also be a testimony of strength to those close to them and all whom they encounter.

Chosen, Tried and True is our group for those 55 and older Single or Married. This senior adult ministry of Christ the Rock Fellowship is designed for those “empty nesters” whose children are now on their own. Those in this season of life have much wisdom and experience and now have an opportunity to share it with others. The 55+ have the Time, Talents and Treasures to bless the church of today and to-morrow. This is a ministry of fellowship, love and prayer, strengthen-ing and encouraging one another to get the greatest value from the “Golden Years” of life, hoping to leave a great legacy of faith and ex-ample to the coming generations.
